...there will be false teachers among you.
They will cleverly teach destructive heresies
and even deny the Master who bought them.
In this way, they will bring
sudden destruction on themselves.
sudden destruction on themselves.
Many will follow their evil teaching
and shameful immorality.
and shameful immorality.
And because of these teachers,
the way of truth will be slandered.
the way of truth will be slandered.
2 Peter 2:1-2
There are seducing spirits now prevalent in the world, which are more subtle than they have ever been before. New doctrines have arisen “In the Name of Jesus” that are being cleverly projected as the Gospel of Jesus Christ. However as of a truth, these “new” gospels have been concocted by satan himself.
As believers in Jesus Christ living in this age of apostasy, we must observe and do what is in the Word of God as it has been originally preached to us. We cannot and must not be accommodating to those of other beliefs so as to join with them and call it our gospel as well.
In this day, some believe that Jesus is just a Prophet and that He is not God. Others believe that there is no Holy Ghost. Yet others believe that no matter what or who we worship, we are all worshipping the same God. Some believe that God has made some homosexual and it is therefore their right to choose their partners because it is their “preferred lifestyle”!
Jesus Christ is more than a Prophet –
- Jesus is the Saviour of the World, to anybody who would confess accepting Him as Saviour.
- Jesus is also our Redeemer (He redeems us from Hell and the grave – He laid Himself down in death and He also picked Himself up again in life)!
- He is the Living God – the other so-called gods have eyes that do not see and ears that do not hear!!
- Jesus is our Protector - we do not have to protect Him.
- He is our Provider – we do not have to provide for Him!
- He is also our Healer,
- He is the Prince of Peace, therefore He is our peace
- He is our Joy unspeakable and full of glory!
As a matter of fact everything that is of God is all wrapped up in Him.
- Jesus is the Way, THE Truth (not A truth but THE Truth) and He is Life itself.
Most of all He is Love

Hi Allison! I am coming from Hear it on Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI love the list of all the things that Jesus is! I am sure if we tried to list all the ways he lives in us, we wouldn't have enough paper!
The role of Protector really spoke to me, and that he does not have to be protected. He will protect me, and he can take care of himself. Great point!
Happy Monday!

Dear Audrey
ReplyDeleteI am concerned with you about all these deceptions doing the religios rounds in the name of Jesus. Some is so deceptive that without the Holy Spirit helping us to discern, we will never be able to seperate truth from lies!

I agree wholeheartedly, yet some won't believe John 14:6. When people say "Isn't there another way?" Jesus' conversation with the Father in the garden of Gethsemane gives the answer. He asked God if there was another way, yet He was crucified, which means no, there is no other way.
ReplyDeleteLove the "Truth" photo. Mind if I use it? It fits perfectly with a post I'm working on!
Our present-day stretch is so difficult, even when people who are Christians are making some questionable belief systems. I could drop in piles of the pieces they are readjusting that are not godly. They think they are just being extra accepting and extra nice and godly b/c they are not putting any activities as sinful, but just a part of life.
ReplyDeleteHeavy sigh. Thank you...
Thank you for sharing at "Tell Me a Story." We must always look to the Bible and line up teaching with truth from God's word. I am reminded that "If even an angel give us another gospel, we are NOT to receive it."
ReplyDeleteJust reading who all Jesus is blesses me. What a blessing to read and live by the Word of God.
ReplyDeleteWell said, timely, and true!
ReplyDeleteAmen! Jesus is truly the Son of God.
ReplyDeleteVery good list. We need to know our bible and not accept anything else.
ReplyDeleteAllison..Yes! There is only one! His name is Jesus! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI whole heartedly agree. There is more false teaching out there than at any time in the past. Thank you for pointing this out.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Charlotte
You are so right - there are seducing spirits in the world. I never thought I would see so much of what you mentioned in our country - and it grieves my heart! Wishing you blessing from our loving Father this week!
ReplyDeleteGod has no religion
ReplyDeleteSo thankful that Jesus is our everything
ReplyDeleteIt's so important to hold on to truth and not allow the different world-views of our time dilute this. The only way we can do this is to regularly read God's Word and pray for the grace and wisdom to understand God's will.
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up at Essential Fridays. Blessings.
