Fish Out of Water

“Look Dad, it’s still swimming!” Five year old Roger stared in amazement as he watched his father place the struggling fish into a nearby bucket. But his excitement turned to horror as he saw the fish go limp. “Daddy! Put it back! Make it swim again!” “I can’t son,” his dad responded. “It’s been out of the water for too long. It’s dead now.”

A fish, when it is first taken out of water, continues to move in a swimming motion for a while. It is doing the right actions but in the wrong environment, and because it is no longer connected to its source of life it dies. Everything must stay connected to the source from which it came.

God spoke to the earth and commanded it to bring forth herbs, grasses and trees. Likewise He brought forth fish from the waters. From that moment, the thing created had to remain connected to the origin of its sustenance or it would not survive.

God spoke to Himself when He created you and me. He said, “Let’s US make man in Our own image.”

Jesus said, "I am the Vine; you are the branches. Whoever lives in Me, and I in him bears much (abundant) fruit. However, apart from Me (cut off from vital union with Me) you can do nothing. If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown off like a (broken off) branch and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire and they are burned.” – Amplified Bible.

You may do the right things – give to charitable causes, volunteer in your community, attend church and live a moral life. But without a divine connection and intimate relationship with the True Vine, Jesus the Christ, you will live for a while, but eventually will suffer the same fate as a fish out of water.

Remember Judas

Everyone was born with a purpose, a specific function to perform. To you and me what may seem like a negative situation may not be so in God’s eyes.

Pharaoh was created by God, made ruler over Egypt, and was in place at the time when God told Moses to go to him and demand that the Hebrews be freed. However, God also orchestrated it that Pharaoh would stubbornly resist the very edict that He had given.

Another example is Judas. You remember him. He’s the one that we all like to look down on because he betrayed Jesus after being His disciple for three years! And he did it out of greed! How could he??!!

Well the reality is that Judas fulfilled a purpose – to betray Jesus for 30 thirty pieces of silver, (see Zechariah 11:12,13; Matthew 27:3-10 and John 13:18-27). Crazy you say? Well, consider this. Each time that Jesus encountered a demon possessed person He cast the demon out. However, when the devil himself entered Judas Jesus’ response was, “What you do, do quickly”. In other words He did not cast the devil out of Judas because He knew that Judas’ actions would trigger Jesus’ fulfillment of His purpose.

So the next time someone appears to you to be an enemy, just remember Judas, and know that they too were born to help you fulfill your destiny!

Credit Rating

Does Donald Trump have to be concerned about his credit rating? No. Does Bill Gates? No. Both gained their wealth through the world systems’ means. If these men don’t have to submit to and depend on their own systems’ rules for success, why do we?

We, the sons of the Most High God, are here to have dominion over each system, including the financial system. Why then, do we concern ourselves with conforming to the standards set up by the very same world system over which we are supposed to take dominion? Who are these "uncircumcised Philistines" who dare to try to limit the power and authority of the children of God by setting parameters that are not godly and not fair? Who are they to force us to “make bricks without straw”, and then punish us when we fall short of our quota by limiting what we have access to?

I refuse to bow and bend any longer to the oppression of a system that has nothing to do with my God and His economic methods. My husband, the Lord of hosts (Isaiah 54:5), owns everything.

Trump’s wife and Gates’ wife don’t have to ask anyone else but their own husbands for what they need. They don’t need to go to an “outside man”. They know that they have access to whatever belongs to their husbands (to a degree that is, based on what kind of pre-nuptial agreement they signed.)

I, on the other hand, don’t have a pre-nup with the Lord. All that He has is mine. I have access to it all at the time that I need it and in the right amount that I need. We are one. So, since my Husband controls everything then I don’t need to be overly concerned about getting my credit rating fixed to satisfy the demands of this world.

What needs to be fixed in the Body of Christ is our mindset about integrity and stewardship, so that when we do receive the inheritance that is laid up for us we handle our Husband’s business wisely.

What do I do then, when I have a financial need?

I make sure that my relationship with my Husband is in such unity that we flow together as one. I can then know what He is saying in the heavenly realm, and can therefore discern how to access it in the earth.

I make sure that He is the only love of my life and none other.

I make sure that I seek first to learn, understand and participate in His cause – the advancement of His Kingdom. As I prove myself to be a faithful wife, He willingly adds “all these things” (Matthew 6:33) to me.
