Are You Behaving Like a Child?

Before you were conceived your spirit was with God in eternity. Remember that God told Jeremiah that He knew him before Jeremiah was in his mother’s womb, and the Father had already purposed that Jeremiah would be a prophet. It is the same with you. Your mother’s womb, then, was the transition point between the heavenly realm and the earthly realm.

On the day of your birth, when you entered the world, you began the process of learning about this earth realm which is so totally different from where you were with the Father.

As a child…

1. You were totally dependent on your parents.
2. You had to learn the language of this new realm.
3. You had to learn the rules – what was acceptable and what was not acceptable.
4. You learned the rewards and consequences for your decisions to obey or disobey those rules.
5. You lived in the moment. Negative feelings like frustration, anger and sadness lasted for moments and were soon forgotten.
6. You learned to love and appreciate the music of this realm.
7. You believed whatever your parents said to you.
8. You forgave easily and didn’t hold grudges.
9. You loved unconditionally.
10. As a young child you were constantly in learning mode. Life was an adventure, and when you fell you got up and tried again.

Jesus said that in order to enter the Kingdom of God you must become like a child. Examine your life in light of the 10 points stated above. Are you behaving like a child?

The Power to Get Wealth

Deut. 8:18
And you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth that He may establish His covenant which He swore to your fathers as it is this day.

The power to get wealth is not a method, but a Person – Jesus the Christ. He Himself is the Power that infills you and empowers you to receive the wealth that is Himself. Everything comes from Him and is an expression of Him. As long as people keep looking for things or methods they will miss the true Power. Even if they acquire a measure of wealth they will have to continue to work hard at keeping it since it’s self-generated and not God-imparted.

Matt. 6:31-33
Do not worry saying, “What shall we eat?” or “What shall we drink?” or “What shall we wear?” For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added to you.

When you find the Kingdom of God you are able to find the King who is in you. At that point your ego – your sense of self – is set aside, and He who is in you is free to manifest the Kingdom through you. The needs that you perceive you have are not really needs at all since Christ in you has no need. This is why when you seek and find the Kingdom all things are added to you.

Jesus epitomized this in His life here on earth. He was able to put His humanity – His awareness of self – on the back burner so to speak, and it was because of this I believe, that He was able to do the mighty miracles that He did. You can do the same.

A miracle can only be done by the Miracle Worker Himself. I believe that one of the reasons why we don’t see as many miracles as were done in Jesus’ day is that our own self-awareness has hindered the Christ in us from functioning freely.

I have often heard preachers say that you can’t win those who have a lot of money unless yours is equal to or exceeding theirs. If that were true then Jesus would have taught this as a vital principle. He did, however, say that it is hard (yet not impossible) for a rich man to enter the Kingdom of God.

The spirit of mammon is so subtle and enticing that it has snared even the most devout and well meaning of saints. Little do men and women realize that when they buy into the kind of mindset mentioned above, they are actually making mammon their god. Our God does not have any such prerequisite to bring someone – rich or poor – to Him. It is the power of the Holy Spirit that brings men to repentance and salvation – not the power of the wallet.

What the rich and influential of this world need to see is the awesome power of God manifested in the lives of His children, and that power can only be received and transmitted through prolonged, consistent, intimate communion with the Father.

How many ministers of the Gospel are truly ready to spend the time needed to receive that magnificent impartation of God’s power so that rich and poor alike can come to Christ? Are you one of them?

The Cry Behind The Cry

Irma’s sharp words shot across the room like bullets. Her face was creased in a deep scowl as she continued her barrage, knowing that she was hitting her mark with each blow, but not caring that she was inflicting wounds. Her husband Sam, the recipient of the onslaught, walked away in stony silence choosing to stifle his response rather than let loose his own arsenal.

How many Irmas have you met in your lifetime? Are you an ‘Irma’ yourself?

In the wilderness the Israelites became angry when things were uncomfortable and they blamed Moses for taking them out of Egypt. Moses in turn often became frustrated with them. But God heard the cry behind their cry – the sound behind their anger. It was a cry of panic, bewilderment and desperation. In His great love the Father answered and provided water for them.

We often criticize the children of Israel for their lack of faith in God. The truth is that they did not have an intimate personal relationship with their God as Moses did. They knew His works, but not His ways. How then, could they know that He was not as fickle as they were? How do you trust someone with whom you have little or no relationship, especially when you are in a frightening situation?

People are hurting, angry, afraid, depressed and frustrated. In their pain they cry out, and their cries often sound like angry words. This is a perfect time for the Body of Christ to manifest the image of God in the earth.

The next time you witness someone let loose a barrage of angry words would you ask God for the ability to hear the cry behind their cry? Would you be willing to allow the Father to use you as their “water in the wilderness”? Wouldn't you want someone to hear the cry behind your cry?

God's Day Begins at Night

Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness. God called the light Day, and the darkness He called Night. So the evening and the morning were the first day. – Genesis 1:3-5

God’s day, as referenced above, has little to do with the physical daylight that you experience with your senses. As you read in the above passage, the evening and then the morning were the first day. Note that neither the sun nor the moon was yet created. That occurred on the fourth day of creation. The light that you read about on the first day is not the physical light of those celestial bodies, but rather it is translated “illumination (understanding), glory, prosperity and joy.” Darkness on the other hand is translated “obscurity, confusion, blindness, vagueness, perplexity”.

When God declares light into your circumstances there may be a period of “evening” before the “morning” breaks through, but be assured that a new day has begun!

No Limits, No Boundaries

We love to sing that wonderful song by Israel Houghton, but do we really believe it? I hear The Lord saying, “Why do you limit Me to doing miracles that are similar to what you read of in the Bible? Do I not go from glory to glory? Am I not your Exceeding Great Reward? Am I not the Creator of all things? Why then, limit Me to a “Jericho experience” or a “five loaves and two fish” miracle? Can I, The Lord God Almighty, not do exceedingly above that? Therefore stop limiting your mind to the boundaries of yesteryear. Run after Me for all you’ve got. Notice I said run after Me – not after the things or the events – for I have hidden everything in Me. Run after Me, for in Me there are no limits, no boundaries.”

Remember Judas

Everyone was born with a purpose, a specific function to perform. To you and me what may seem like a negative situation may not be so in God’s eyes.

Pharaoh was created by God, made ruler over Egypt, and was in place at the time when God told Moses to go to him and demand that the Hebrews be freed. However, God also orchestrated it that Pharaoh would stubbornly resist the very edict that He had given.

Another example is Judas. You remember him. He’s the one that we all like to look down on because he betrayed Jesus after being His disciple for three years! And he did it out of greed! How could he??!!

Well the reality is that Judas fulfilled a purpose – to betray Jesus for 30 thirty pieces of silver, (see Zechariah 11:12,13; Matthew 27:3-10 and John 13:18-27). Crazy you say? Well, consider this. Each time that Jesus encountered a demon possessed person He cast the demon out. However, when the devil himself entered Judas Jesus’ response was, “What you do, do quickly”. In other words He did not cast the devil out of Judas because He knew that Judas’ actions would trigger Jesus’ fulfillment of His purpose.

So the next time someone appears to you to be an enemy, just remember Judas, and know that they too were born to help you fulfill your destiny!

Credit Rating

Does Donald Trump have to be concerned about his credit rating? No. Does Bill Gates? No. Both gained their wealth through the world systems’ means. If these men don’t have to submit to and depend on their own systems’ rules for success, why do we?

We, the sons of the Most High God, are here to have dominion over each system, including the financial system. Why then, do we concern ourselves with conforming to the standards set up by the very same world system over which we are supposed to take dominion? Who are these "uncircumcised Philistines" who dare to try to limit the power and authority of the children of God by setting parameters that are not godly and not fair? Who are they to force us to “make bricks without straw”, and then punish us when we fall short of our quota by limiting what we have access to?

I refuse to bow and bend any longer to the oppression of a system that has nothing to do with my God and His economic methods. My husband, the Lord of hosts (Isaiah 54:5), owns everything.

Trump’s wife and Gates’ wife don’t have to ask anyone else but their own husbands for what they need. They don’t need to go to an “outside man”. They know that they have access to whatever belongs to their husbands (to a degree that is, based on what kind of pre-nuptial agreement they signed.)

I, on the other hand, don’t have a pre-nup with the Lord. All that He has is mine. I have access to it all at the time that I need it and in the right amount that I need. We are one. So, since my Husband controls everything then I don’t need to be overly concerned about getting my credit rating fixed to satisfy the demands of this world.

What needs to be fixed in the Body of Christ is our mindset about integrity and stewardship, so that when we do receive the inheritance that is laid up for us we handle our Husband’s business wisely.

What do I do then, when I have a financial need?

I make sure that my relationship with my Husband is in such unity that we flow together as one. I can then know what He is saying in the heavenly realm, and can therefore discern how to access it in the earth.

I make sure that He is the only love of my life and none other.

I make sure that I seek first to learn, understand and participate in His cause – the advancement of His Kingdom. As I prove myself to be a faithful wife, He willingly adds “all these things” (Matthew 6:33) to me.

In Hot Pursuit

There is a difference between going after God for something and going after God for God. The pursuit of God, especially in the midst of a tumultuous situation, should not be for the resolution of the thing, but for the increased knowledge and understanding of the One who trusted you with the situation in the first place. Yes, God trusts you with trouble!

In your single-minded pursuit of Him, God imparts to you an uncommon wisdom – a subtle knowing that empowers you to discern rightly and decide correctly. His wisdom becomes enlarged in you and the wisdom of God in you then causes first a change in you, then a change in your environment.

The Father is more interested in developing your character in Him than in filling your needs. His purpose for you is to bring you back to your original glory – to be His manifested image here on the earth. The only way that you can accomplish that is to know the One in whose image you were created; not knowing Him for what He does, but knowing Him for Who He is, how He thinks.

Do not be tempted to pray to God to relieve you of the stresses that challenge you. This is what the Israelites did under Moses’ leadership in the desert. They felt uncomfortable in their bodies and souls and they cried out for relief. God answered always, but not with Himself. They received the things that He had without ever receiving the Person that He is. As a result the children of Israel for the most part never really got to know the God of their salvation, and they wandered unnecessarily in the desert, circulating around the mountain.

God will have no other gods before Him, and that includes your challenging situation. Don’t circulate in your frustration, crying out to the LORD for His acts, while ignoring Him. Lay the challenge aside and go after Him with all you’ve got. Then watch Him show you Himself in all His glory. Watch Him lovingly impart more of Himself to you. You then gain in two ways – the Christ in you is enlarged and the wisdom of God in you gives you the peace, the understanding and the knowledge of how to handle any situation you are faced with.

Reality or Just Reflection?

Picture this. You are sitting on the dock of a lake, looking over into the water at your reflection. You, in your position on the dock, are the truth; the image of yourself in the water is only a reflection of the truth you see, so it is not truth in itself but merely a fact.

Keep looking. There’s a gentle breeze that causes ripples on the water. Your reflection (the fact) becomes slightly distorted because of the outside forces. But you remain in your position above the water on the dock.

A boat on the lake speeds by sending waves in its wake. In the water you see yourself being tossed to and fro. But in reality you’re still in position above the circumstances.

The question is – do you live life according to what you see reflected, or do you live life from your God-ordained position? In God there is only one truth – you are seated above your circumstances. Facts are reflections of how you perceive your life. They are fickle and they change with the wind.

Live in the truth of who you are.

Words from Warning Street

The following article - a prophetic word - was written by my friend Sonya.

Please take heed to what I am about to write. These are not words to scare you but to encourage you during this season. There is a time in the near future where God is going to reveal Himself in a new way. This is a strategic move on His part to usher in His Glory. However, if you are familiar with how God works; He does things in His own way and never how we could fathom in our own minds. What will seem disconcerting to the world will not be so for the Body of Christ.

Something happened on my parent’s property yesterday which was a strong warning from God. I woke up this morning with the lamp shaking. As soon as I got out of bed the lamp stopped shaking and the Holy Spirit brought to my remembrance the events of yesterday. I will share with you what happened.

My parents have a lake in their backyard. Since the springtime there has been a problem with many people from a neighboring subdivision who come through the yard of a woman who is renting a house. She gave them permission to cut through her yard because she does not own the property she is renting, nor does she own my parent’s property where the lake is located. People have been coming on a regular basis to fish and walk their dogs on the property. They leave behind trash and doggie “stuff”.

Initially, my parents had put up no trespassing signs but they were torn down. My parents have not really taken active steps to combat this problem because they are not here a lot. However, since I have been here it has irritated me because of the privacy issue as well as knowing these people do not have a right to be on my parent’s property. So, yesterday I decided to confront the people and let them know.

The first person I informed was a teenage boy and he stated he was not aware that he could not fish there. I told him to get off the property since I had now given him the information. However, later the boy came back with a group of friends as if I had not told him anything but went down further onto someone else’s property. My brother, who is visiting went into the backyard and stood there to present an authoritative presence and they left.

Later, I told a man who was with his son that the property was privately owned and he needed to leave the property. He became very angry and stated no one had told him that he could not fish there. I proceeded to let him know that no trespassing signs had been placed there before but people chose to ignore them. However, since I was telling him then, he should abide by my request. He asked me if I owned the house and I told him no but my father did. When I said that then he picked up his son and left. I then told my father about the incidents of the day when he returned home from work. He proceeded to inform me that it was time to put the signs back up and take action to find a person to put up a fence.

This is my interpretation of the events which happened to me. God is saying that many of us have tolerated the enemy invading our territory in our lives and in America. We have not taken authority to tell the enemy that he has no right to be on our property and it is now time for him to go. By taking authority given to us by Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18-20), we can know that we have a protection from our Father in Heaven. As we go before the Lord in prayer and begin to declare that the enemy be removed from our land then God will spiritually put up “Do Not Trespass” signs and fences to prevent the enemy from coming back. Having an understanding of this for the season which is coming upon us is crucial. We need to pray over our physical bodies, our minds, our families, our finances, our health, the lost souls, the nations, our children, etc. because the enemy has been wreaking havoc for years and we have not taken the mindset that “enough is enough”.

We have authority in Jesus Christ and now is the time to arise and take the land. Move into the land and overcome the giants which seem to be overtaking you knowing that you already have the Victory through Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 60:1-5
ARISE [from the depression and prostration in which circumstances have kept you--rise to a new life]! Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you!

For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness [all] peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you [O Jerusalem], and His glory shall be seen on you.

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising

Lift up your eyes round about you and see! They all gather themselves together, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms.

Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart shall thrill and tremble with joy [at the glorious deliverance] and be enlarged; because the abundant wealth of the [Dead] Sea shall be turned to you, unto you shall the nations come with their treasures.

Matthew 28:18-20 (Amplified Bible)
Jesus approached and, breaking the silence, said to them, All authority (all power of rule) in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

Go then and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them into the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,

Teaching them to observe everything that I have commanded you, and behold, I am with you all the days (perpetually, uniformly, and on every occasion), to the [very] close and consummation of the age. Amen (so let it be).

Revelation 3:10-12 (Amplified Bible)
Because you have guarded and kept My word of patient endurance [have held fast the lesson of My patience with the expectant endurance that I give you], I also will keep you [safe] from the hour of trial (testing) which is coming on the whole world to try those who dwell upon the earth.

I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one may rob you and deprive you of your crown.

He who overcomes (is victorious), I will make him a pillar in the sanctuary of My God; he shall never be put out of it or go out of it, and I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the new Jerusalem, which descends from My God out of heaven, and My own new name.

Don't Shun The Sifting

And the Lord said, “Simon, Simon! Indeed, Satan has asked for you, that he may sift you as wheat. But I have prayed for you, that your faith should not fail; and when you have returned to Me, strengthen your brethren.” Luke 22: 31 – 32

There are some key issues in Jesus’ statement to Peter that apply to all of us today.

Satan had to ask for Peter, just as he had to ask for Job.
This confirms that the adversary cannot operate on his own volition, but has to do as God dictates. He is therefore a pawn of the Lord, used to fulfill God’s purposes in a person’s life.

Unlike popular thought, the adversary is not self-employed. He is God’s slave, and can do only what the Father allows. This was true for Job and for Peter, and it is just as true for you and me.

He wanted to sift Peter as wheat.
When wheat is sifted the valuable parts are separated from what is worthless. The chaff which is the light, worthless part is blown away through a process of fanning. When the sifting, or winnowing, is competed the heavier and valuable grain remains.

Note that the chaff is necessary for a season. Chaff is actually the outer covering of a seed, so while the wheat grows the chaff is used as an outer protection. But there comes a time when the wheat is mature enough and the chaff is no longer needed. That’s when the sifting must occur.

The same thing happens in our lives. There are certain character traits in you and me that are allowed by God until we come to maturity. But when we mature and He is ready to use us the chaff has got to go, and for wheat the process is unsettling to say the least. It is no longer attached to the stem that gave it nourishment, and it is violently thrown into the air.

The adversary was simply going to be used by God to bring Peter to a place of greater righteousness. In his challenge Peter would face his own carnality. Remember that he denied Christ three times after He was arrested. But his righteousness began to shine through as he wept bitterly, acknowledging his wrongdoing. This opened the way for his own arrogance to be replaced by his confidence in God. This, I believe, is why Peter was the one who was able to stand so boldly and speak before the leaders of that day and testify about Jesus.

Jesus knew about Peter’s victory beforehand and the purpose for it.
Jesus knew that because he interceded for Peter that the outcome was sure. We have that same assurance today, since Scripture tells us that Jesus is ever interceding on our behalf. What a guarantee of victory it is for us!

Peter’s victory was not only for himself. Note that Jesus told him that when (not if) he returned he was to strengthen the brethren. So Jesus knew all along that Peter could be trusted enough to be sifted – buffeted by the winds of his own carnality – and return stronger, thus being a blessing not only to himself but a valuable asset to the Kingdom of God. So it is with us.

The Sound of the Kingdom

Each nation has its own unique qualities that make it stand out from others. The laws, the way people speak, their social etiquette, even their money distinguishes them and sets them apart. So does a country's music. The music that is indigenous to Jamaica, for example, is reggae, and to Trinidad it is calypso, soca and chutney. Rap, r & b and country music are distinctly American.

So too, the Kingdom of God has its own distinguishing features. Hence the reason why the citizens of the Kingdom are called 'a peculiar people', 'set apart' and a 'holy nation'.

It is vitally important that we, the sons of God, embrace fully every aspect of the culture of God's Kingdom. Some features are easily distinguishable. The law of the Kingdom of God for example, is love, and we can look to Scripture to guide us in this law. But there are other features of the Kingdom that are not as easily discerned. One particular area is music, and I believe that it is vitally important that we learn and adopt the sound that is unique to the Kingdom of God.

The music of the Kingdom originates in the heavenly realm – not on earth – and serves only one purpose - to glorify God. It does not have an American sound, or a Caribbean, Hispanic, Asian, African or European vibe. No, the sound of worship that fills the Kingdom is as unique and distinct as each of its other characteristics. It's a sound that sets it apart as reserved for the King of Kings Himself.

I believe that in this season when the manifestation of the Kingdom of God is imminent, we must re-examine what has until now been accepted as worship music. The pure music of the Kingdom is not a sound of a mixture of the secular and the sacred. Sacred words joined to an originally secular sound are a mixture. Even if the melody of a song is original it, and the beat, often reflect the national culture of the composer, and as such it is subtly influenced by the magnetic pull of the earth realm.

God requires that we worship Him "in spirit and in truth". This means that true worship should not be a reflection of the soulish or earthly realm. In other words, what may appeal to our natural senses (consciously or unconsciously) does not appeal to the Father. A good beat or a catchy tune may be wonderfully inspirational or entertaining, but the Father is not moved because He cannot accept a mixture. As a result, many of our most popular Christian songs minister to the people instead of ministering to the Lord.

Is it any wonder that despite the abundance of Christian music being played on the airwaves and in Christian gatherings the presence of God is sadly lacking? God inhabits and manifests Himself in true worship, and it is in His presence that souls are saved, hearts and bodies are healed and people are delivered from all kinds of oppression.

I have personally witnessed the impact that pure worship, played through a cd player, can have on a demon possessed person. This person was manifesting demonic activity, wild-eyed and spewing curses for hours. However, as soon as that pure worship was released into the atmosphere the demon left and the person regained his composure.

The presence and miraculous power of God is the only factor that draws unbelievers to Him. We need to reject the idea that the only way to entice them is with inspirational songs that have a familiar cultural sound.

Inspirational music has its place, but it is time now to diligently seek and tap in to the Kingdom of God, and let the sound of the Father's music come on earth as it is in heaven.

God Healed My Marriage

The following article is a powerful testimony that was written by my dear friend, Allison.

One must agree that relationships are under attack in the church. The great ploy of the enemy is to divide, while the Lord Jesus came to reconcile and unite us with each other and with God – Luke 9:56. In His final prayer before leaving the earth, Jesus prayed in John 17:21 concerning His disciples that we may all be one just as the Father and Jesus are one. I see that particular Word being attacked daily in the church and by extension even outside of the church. The Word of God has advised that offenses must come. See Matthew 18:7. However, we are mandated to walk in love. See John 13:34.

Marriage is a great institution by the Lord. It is the greatest union that a man and a woman could enter into. It is not just a physical joining but a spiritual one. This joining is the seed or nucleus of family life. God has instituted this joining when He was creating the world. He saw that it was not good that man should be alone so he gave the man a wife. This was sacred. He showed the importance of this union by taking a rib from the man in order to form woman and then He breathed HIS breath into them and blessed them saying unto them that they should reproduce after their own kind. In other words, that was the license given to populate the earth – to bring forth duplicates of God’s creation.

However, I see time and time again a dis-jointing in marriages with many divorces occurring as well as tragic endings to other marriages. Some claim “irreconcilable differences” to be the reason for their separation. The majority of times marriages end because of infidelity. The latter being the only excuse that God would accept in permitting a divorce. See Matthew 19:9.

My own life attests to the extreme attacks from the enemy even from the inception of my marriage. For seventeen years I was miserable beyond words. Communication problems together with gross infidelity on both sides occurred. Arguments and just downright friction and unhappiness prevailed. In the midst of the negativity and un-pleasantries the Words that caused me to remain married were “What God has joined together, let no man put asunder.” Whenever I reached to the point of utter frustration, those Words came to me as a reminder. After seventeen years of wedded un-bliss, life began to change, only because I saw God lifting me to another level in Him. He caused me to view this union with different eyes – in other words, the Lord showed me my marriage from HIS perspective.

Do you know that Adam never had a choice in having Eve for his wife and vice versa Eve never had a choice in choosing her own mate? Adam did not have the freedom to say that he’s looking for a 34-26-38 figured woman with blonde hair and blue eyes. Nor did Eve have the freedom to choose specifics for a husband. Do you know that God chose the two to be united? In this world system, we have a false sense of what marriage really is and how we are to determine who is to be your spouse. We use all sorts of criteria that are irrelevant to God when choosing a mate. The mandate to man from his Creator, was to leave his mother’s house and go find a wife See Matthew 19:5.

I have realized that we must first love the Lord our God with all of our hearts, and subsequently we should allow ourselves to be led by the Spirit of God – see Romans 8:14. It stands to reason that we ought to be led by the Spirit of God in choosing our spouses.

We are born with purpose by God. Therefore, the person who God will give us to wed will be the person who will help us to fulfill our purpose and destiny in God. Have you thought of what will happen if we go about choosing a mate ourselves instead of waiting on the leadership of the Holy Ghost? Our destiny would be at stake?

I had lived for years looking to satisfy my fleshly desires in marriage, but God has shown me that His purpose for bringing me into this world has nothing to do with my unruly flesh. I was created to complete the husband that God has given to me and also for my husband to complete me, and together we are to fulfill our purpose on the earth, as God has already ordained in Eternity. We all have to grow up and out of operating in our flesh and learn to walk according to the Spirit of God’s direction. Walking to fulfill this flesh will cause us to lose our souls in hell. See Romans 8:5-8 and Galatians 5:16-17

Marriage is something that we work at. It entails a lot of dying to the flesh – in other words, the marriage must include the activation of agape- the God kind of love, in order to live this life victoriously for God. Couples would never agree on all issues because they are individuals, with different likes and dislikes who have come together to form one unit. However, God still expects the couple to live victoriously as husband and wife. The keys to living the victorious life in marriage is as follows –

• To live by the Word of God
• To live in agape by denying your own flesh in order to cater to the needs of your spouse – not by being a maid or a bell boy, but by seeking to be pleasing to him or her while keeping in mind that God is the One who orchestrated the union
• Listen and follow after the leading of the Holy Spirit

It has been proven by my own life that as we all follow these simple guidelines in marriage, God will intervene and cause each marriage to be successful to His Glory and Honour and so serve to be a beacon to the saved as well as the unsaved. It is indeed possible readers, to live together as man and wife, even in these dark days, and have a successful marriage. God did it for me! He has truly fixed my mess and made it into this message.

Everything Has A Currency

Currency – money, legal tender, frequency, popularity, circulation, commonness

The currency of the world system is money. It flows from hand to hand; from business to business; from nation to nation. It is said that money makes the world go around. When men and women create giant storehouses to compile their own personal wealth, ignoring the plight of their fellow man, the system itself begins to implode with all kinds of maladies.

The currency of the human body is blood. It circulates throughout each of the body’s cells, supplying the needed nutrients at the right time and in the right amount. In a healthy human body each cell takes only the amount of blood it needs and passes on the rest to the other cells. If a cell hoards blood it becomes engorged, mutates and causes the body to manifest illness of some kind.

The currency of the Kingdom of God is love. We are to receive the love of God who is our Source and pass that love on to others. When we hoard what we consider to be the symbols of ‘love’ to ourselves – things like material possessions, relationships, jobs etc – it causes us to become ‘inflated’ while others in the body are ‘bankrupt’. This imbalance in the distribution of love creates a crisis in the Body of Christ.

What are you doing to ensure that the currency of the Kingdom of God remains solvent?

The Kingdom of God - Upside Down and Inside Out, But Right

What distinguishes the Kingdom of God from the kingdoms of this world is that God’s Kingdom is, for the most part, totally opposite of what the world is. We have been so indoctrinated into the culture of this world that it requires a conscious and constant re-training of our minds to think according to the culture of the Kingdom of God.

• The world says that you must be qualified by its standards in order to be accepted for one of its positions.
o The Kingdom of God qualifies you not by what you know, but what condition your heart is in. Then you receive on-the-job training.

• While the world says that you must fight to get what you want…
o the Kingdom says, “Give, and it shall be given to you, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will men give into your bosom.”

• The world says that the key to staying healthy is keeping physically fit, eating the right foods and maintaining a weight that is ‘normal’ for your height.
o The Kingdom says that those things alone won’t do it. You will be in health as your soul (your mind, will and emotions) prospers.

• The world says if someone does you wrong you have the right to hold a grudge, sue, get even, tell your therapist, tell your friends, tell Dr. Phil, tell……………
o The Kingdom says if someone does you wrong, forgive them, bless them and pray for them. When you sling mud the first person to get dirty is you – as soon as you pick it up.

• The world says that in order to be secure in the future you must have a retirement plan.
o The Kingdom has no retirement plan. You’re in this for eternity.

• The world thinks that as people age they become less and less valuable to society. So they create “age-defying” creams and lotions, chemicals to cover grey hair, machines to zap away wrinkles and injections to puff out sagging skin.
o Advancing age is an indication of increasing wisdom and maturity, and therefore is more and more valuable to the Kingdom.

• When someone is found in a fault the world broadcasts it on prime time news, in chat rooms, in cell phone text messages, via e-mail, in “private” conversations and in thinly veiled messages delivered from the pulpit.
o The Kingdom dictates that fallen men and women be restored and protected because we all fall at one point or another – some more publicly than others.

• The world says that to be considered successful you must be able to buy the latest trends. If you have to work 2 or 3 jobs to accomplish this at the expense of your health, your family and your relationships they will readily help you. They will recommend sleep aids when you have insomnia from too much worrying; pills to help you stay awake; microwavable foods packed with chemicals since you have no time to cook; interest delayed payments on the latest big ticket item, and the list goes on and on.
o The Kingdom sets the standard, so there are no fickle trends to keep up with.
o In the Kingdom we are content in whatever state we find ourselves. We are confident in the reality that our Father owns everything and that it is available to us, His sons and daughters. But we are more focused on laying up treasures in heaven than on laying them up here on the earth where decay will eventually take over.
o Because our focus is on the Kingdom of God all things are eventually added to us, without pressures that the world places on men. It’s called sweatless victory.

• The world says “Have it your way……..now!”
o In the Kingdom of God there is a time and a purpose for everything and in the fullness of time those things that are for us come to us effortlessly.

• The world says, “Insist on getting what you want, when you want it and how you want it.”
o In the Kingdom we listen to what the Father is releasing to us at the time. We simply do what we see Him doing and say what we hear Him saying.

• When the world says, “It’s over.”……
o in the Kingdom it’s just beginning, and God is about to do His best work.

• The world looks at calamities, chaos, shortages and other kinds of trouble with a sense of dread.
o God often ushers in His greatest blessings in the midst of calamities, chaos, shortages and other kinds of trouble, so in the Kingdom while the world is panicking we have an increasing sense of eager anticipation.

MIND YOUR MANNAs

“This again?!” Joseph growled as he looked down at the plate in front of him with utter disgust. “I’m tired of eating the same thing over and over again! Can’t we have something different for a change? How about some meat, some fish………anything but this plain old ….whatever-you-call-it! What is it anyway?” Angrily shoving the plate aside he stormed out, leaving his wife Abby to clean up the mess he left in his wake.

Abby sighed as she picked up the portions of the meal that had fallen on the floor, her eyes filling with tears. Joseph had been hanging around that crowd recently. She had overheard them complaining about the living conditions and how they wanted things to be like they were before. Now Joseph was speaking and acting just like them. She had never seen him behave like this before. He had always been so easy going, but now………

In the above excerpt Joseph and Abby could have been among the Israelites who had left Egypt and were traveling through the wilderness toward the Promised Land. It was a long and sometimes arduous trip, but all of their needs had been met. Their clothes had not worn out, and their shoes were still as sound as when they first had left Egypt. Yet as they drew nearer and nearer to the precious Promised Land, detractors among them began to complain about the manna that they had been eating every day, and they incited the Israelites to long for choicer and more delectable things.

The Body of Christ is in the same position as the Israelites were back then. We have been taken out of our “Egypt” and are on our way to the glory of the manifested promises of God. But until we arrive we must be willing to accept the “manna” that He provides in whatever form it comes, and creatively make the best use of it.

The manna of that time came suddenly and secretly during the night, just as the dew did. The Israelites only had to gather it in the morning and prepare their meals with it. As plain as it looked and maybe even tasted, it provided them with all the nutritional sustenance that they needed. There was not one sick among them. However, when they ate the meat that they had lusted after many of them died.

You and I have to make a choice. Will we see the miracle of God’s provision even in these tough economic times, or will we lust for things that we think will make us more comfortable? Will we be thankful or will we join the complainers and criticizers of today?

What form does your “manna” come in? Is it a job that provides you with a regular salary? Is it provision and support from family and friends? Is it a roof over your head? Is it the trustworthy clothing and shoes that have lasted for quite a while, even though they may not be “the latest” fashion statement?

If, like me, you realize that you have had a lustful or complaining attitude, no matter how temporary, please join me in asking for God’s forgiveness. He has been so faithful in providing for us. We are on our way to experiencing His promises to us. He is God and He does not lie! In the meantime, we may very well have to wear “this again”, eat “this again”, live in “this again”, ride in “this again” or do “this again”, but we must look at His provision with renewed gratitude and make sure that we mind our mannas.

What Atmosphere Do You Live In?

We all live and function in two atmospheres – an internal and an external atmosphere. The external is the one that most of us use to determine the quality of our lives. Whatever we see, hear, smell, taste and feel around us are the factors that many of us consider when evaluating life.

However, as Scripture points out, we have a more important internal atmosphere which truly is the determining factor in whether our lives can be deemed as successful or not. Remember that Jesus said that the Kingdom of God is within us. When He made that statement He was actually referring to our internal atmosphere.

The Kingdom of God has its own culture just as any nation on earth does. It has its own laws, language, music, belief system, protocol, currency etc. Our internal atmosphere is set by the level at which we allow the Kingdom of God to rule. It is an environment where what we think matters more than what we do.

The Word of God declares that “as a man thinks in his heart so is he”. Your thoughts, therefore, determine the rulership of your internal atmosphere. Interestingly, once your internal atmosphere is set it also regulates your external atmosphere. So you manifest externally whatever is happening internally. Your external atmosphere then – the outward environment in which you interact with the rest of the world – is merely a reflection of your internal reality.

What do you think about your life right now? What kind of internal environment do you function from? And how is it manifesting outwardly for the world to see?
